The Sky Castle Ball

Hayao Miyazaki, Director and Animator for some of Studio Ghibli's most beloved films like Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away will be having a steampunk themed ball in his honor at this year's Saboten Con.

The Sky Castle Ball will be featuring live DJs, food and drink, decorations and prizes - and at the end of the night a king and queen will even be crowned. Participants need not be in Miyazaki steampunk attire, though it is preferred. Personally I'd rather see a non-steampunk version of the ball since part of the charm of Miyazaki's characters are how they look - but hey, this is cool too.

The Sky Castle Ball is not included in the price of the convention ticket and will need to be purchased separately for $10.
